Deaths & Character Kills

In our chronicle, we acknowledge that unfortunate events occur, things break, and characters meet their demise. While the conventional World of Darkness narrative dictates permanent loss upon character death, our approach diverges significantly. This departure stems from our commitment to providing an expansive, open-world World of Darkness experience. Unlike the traditional tabletop setting with a small group and a Storyteller gathered around a table, our server embraces a dynamic environment where conflicts with other players are more prevalent.

Given the heightened potential for player conflicts, we've fine-tuned the penalties accordingly. When your character faces the unfortunate fate of death, there will be an Experience deduction based on their Race and powers. Additionally, to maintain a level playing field, all knowledge pertaining to the scene of your character's demise is expunged, along with any familiarity with the one responsible for the deed.

Character Kills

Not all deaths carry the same weight. While some may be as commonplace as those resulting from heated arguments, others unfold in a more dramatic fashion. Instances such as the fall of a powerful figure or the exposure and elimination of an infiltrator fall into this distinct category. Such impactful deaths are often deemed Character Kills. Additionally, characters who fail to authentically represent their roles or prove to be disruptive may also face the irreversible consequence of Character Kill on their subsequent death. Character Kill entails the permanent loss of your character, rather the usual experience point penalties upon death. Once a character is Character Killed, they are forever removed from the chronicle and cannot be resurrected.

It's essential to note that only Race Moderators and the Management hold the authority to classify a death as a Character Kill or otherwise. Their decisions are absolute and not subject to dispute!

Restarter Program

We understand the challenges associated with the loss of a character, appreciating the considerable time and effort invested in their development. Recognizing the impact of such experiences, we are pleased to introduce the Restarter Program as a way to provide players whose characters have met meaningful ends with an avenue for a fresh start.

Under the Restarter Program, players are encouraged to reach out to their Race Moderator to discuss the creation of a new character within the same race. This initiative allows for the crafting of a character with enhanced capabilities beyond the standard. The new character will inherit 50% of the old character's In-Character Experience, capped at a maximum of 100. Additionally, they will be permitted to commence at the same Race-Power level as their previous character (covering aspects such as Generation, Rank, Faith, Arete, Dharma, etc.).

Please keep in mind that characters that undeveloped, disruptive, and poorly-made characters will not be eligible for this program!
