I followed the advice I got at the Sheriff station front desk: To go to Ammunitions and take a course in Firearm Safety. I undertook an hour long lesson on gun safety and shooting. Main point was to never aim any gun at anyone unless intending to harm them, loaded or unloaded alike. I went through how to safely store and carry handguns as well as knowing the proper stance when firing to reduce the risk of faulty aim. I recognize the recoil of handguns and the danger an unsupervised gun. I know my duty to keep my own gun out of the hands of those who are not trained in firearm safety and understand I am to blame if a minor has an accident while handling my gun.
