The Game Begins

Dear former players of VWH-RP,

Welcome, we are excited to have you consider joining us. Before delving into details, we would like to take a moment to reflect on the history of World of Darkness in SA-MP and share our vision for this server.

We understand that World of Darkness in SA-MP is no longer a novelty, and there have been several attempts to revive the community in the past. Although some of these attempts showed temporary success, they eventually failed due to recurring issues. We are confident that we have identified these issues and are committed to crafting a community that addresses them.

One of the core issues that plagued previous attempts is the "Skystaring Syndrome," which refers to the tendency of players to idly stare at the sky without engaging in any activity. To address this, we have eliminated the farming hours system, as we believe that this system in VWH-RP was a significant impediment to the community's success. Instead, we have incorporated unique script-systems that have never been seen before, such as a cooking system, potion brewing for Numina Alechemists, and more. Additionally, we have provided the opportunity to gain experience through grinding script-jobs, which are fully balanced and worthwhile. Finally, we have developed an impressive background lore to the chronicle and added NPCs that players can interact with and roleplay with, such as the Camarilla Prince, Sheriff, Harpy, and Elysium Keeper. Players may gain NPC's favors that offer interesting perks.

Another critical issue that existed is the "Battlechad Plague," which refers to the overemphasis on combat-oriented characters by most players. Although personally, I, Lirbo, have always disapproved of this trend, I can fully understand why it was prevalent. The World of Darkness is vast and diverse, and many different races inhabit it. However, some races have sabotaged the progression of others to an extreme degree simply by existing. These races are mainly Mages and Demons. The issue with these two is that they are both immune to Mind/emotion-altering powers, rendering all of the Social (and also some Mental) powers of other races completely useless. When characters cannot use their Social powers, the only option left is to become a battlechad. Why would you spend your hard-earned Experience points on something that won't help you after all? To address this, we have decided to permanently ban these races entirely from our chronicle. Our chronicle primarily focuses on Humans, Hunters, Vampires, Werewolves, and whatever exists in between and around them (Learn to read between the lines).
To promote social roleplay further, we have implemented an unforgiving Veil Lifting (Masquerade Breaching) system, which is detailed in the House Rules on our forums.

Finally, Our team is firmly committed to eradicating the need for forum applications to access in-game features. Our primary objective is to ensure that players who engage in immersive roleplay of exceptional quality are promptly rewarded without the necessity of application submissions. Consequently, roleplay sessions overseen by a Race Moderator and recognized for their high quality will result in immediate rewards. These rewards encompass a wide range of in-game benefits, including but not limited to Experience points, the creation of Ghouls, Diablerie, the purchase of Backgrounds, the acquisition of Merits, Flaws, Derangements, and more.

In contrast to previous communities, we strictly adhere to the book and believe that house-rules are best kept to a minimum. We have noticed numerous mistakes and even a whole race being played incorrectly in previous communities, and we are astonished that moderators allowed it to happen. As mentioned earlier, all characters must follow the Character Creation process detailed in their race's corebook to the letter! This means that race moderators will enforce balanced characters with an iron fist, and no player may start below 9th Generation/Cliath, etc.

Furthermore, to ensure that characters are properly balanced, we allow players to purchase Merits with Experience throughout gameplay, just like Backgrounds. This means that we encourage players to spend most of their Freebies on their Character Sheet during character creation. However, we caution players that race moderators will deny characters who apply for too many Merits or Backgrounds upon character creation, so it's important to keep a balance in mind.

Finally, We have implemented an Anti Min-Maxing system that prevents players from excessively optimizing their character's abilities. This system considers factors such as the character's race and allocation of Starting Points & Freebies. To compensate for the "lost XP-value" caused by properly allocating the CS, the system rewards characters with Experience, which is gradually awarded during active roleplay (Yes, the system knows when you're actually roleplaying). As a special offer for VWH-RP players, you can redeem the promo code "FAITH" in-game using the command /code, and receive 500 Gold (Premium Currency) to enhance your gaming experience.

One major issue we have identified in previous communities, particularly those using FN-RP's script, is the lack of polish and the feeling that everything was done in a half-hearted way. This resulted in a clunky experience for players, despite their ability to adapt and make do with what was available. We recognize that this can be detrimental to the overall enjoyment of the server, and as such, we are committed to providing a seamless and immersive experience for all our players.

To this end, we are constantly working to improve our systems and iron out any bugs that we can possibly find. Of course, we understand that with any new release, there may be some bugs that players encounter, but we encourage you to report any issues you come across to us. Depending on the severity of the bug, we may even offer rewards for reporting it. Our goal is to ensure that the server runs as smoothly as possible, and we appreciate your cooperation in helping us achieve that.

So why do we believe it will work?
We are confident that our server will be successful because of our comprehensive approach to community management. We understand that a successful community requires both retaining existing members and knowing how to properly welcome new players. To achieve this, we have tailored our systems to be inclusive and suitable for all players, especially our three primary target audiences.

Our first target audience is the existing VWH-RP community veterans. We have created a familiar and engaging experience for these individuals to retain their loyalty.

The second audience we aim to attract is World of Darkness tabletop players. To appeal to this group, we strictly adhere to the books, enforce a balanced environment, and provide an authentic gaming experience.

Finally, we aim to entice SA-MP players from other servers by placing significant emphasis on our script-systems. We understand the importance of offering unique and compelling features that are entertaining even for those not familiar with the World of Darkness. Our innovative features will captivate players, ensuring that they remain engaged and learn the lore with the guidance of our driven Race Moderators.

In conclusion, our approach to community management, inclusivity, and innovation gives us great confidence in the success of our server.
